Membership in the Oxford and Cambridge Society of Kenya (OCSK) is exclusively open to Kenyan citizens and long-term residents living in Kenya who have matriculated at either the University of Oxford, the University of Cambridge, or both.
To matriculate, one must be undertaking or have completed degree-level studies at one or both of these institutions.
Please note:
- Short-term courses at Oxford or Cambridge do not qualify for membership.
- Matriculated foreigners residing in Kenya on a temporary basis are not eligible.
If you meet the criteria and are interested in joining, please reach out to [email protected] and also fill out the form included in this link.
There is no fixed timeline for membership approval. Membership to OCSK begins only after your academic credentials are verified directly with your respective university. The duration of this verification process can vary depending on the university’s workload and response time.
If you would like an update on your application status, feel free to contact us at [email protected].
When applying for membership, please include the following details in your email to OCSK:
- Your full name as registered during your studies
- Your year of matriculation
- The course you studied
- The duration of study (e.g., Year X – Year Y)
- Your college at Oxford or Cambridge
This information helps us verify your academic credentials with the respective university.
Joining the Oxford and Cambridge Society of Kenya (OCSK) offers a range of enriching benefits, including:
- Mentorship: Connect with experienced alumni who can offer guidance on academic, professional, and personal development.
- Networking Opportunities: Engage with a diverse community of Oxford and Cambridge graduates across various fields and industries.
- Community: Become part of a vibrant, like-minded peer group that shares a common academic heritage and commitment to excellence.

There is no joining fee to become a member of the Oxford and Cambridge Society of Kenya (OCSK). However, since OCSK receives no funding from Oxford or Cambridge, it relies entirely on contributions from members who choose to attend various events and programs (e.g., the May Ball).
All registered members are automatically subscribed to the OCSK Quarterly Newsletter. If you’re a first-time recipient, please check your spam or promotions folder, as the newsletter may be filtered there initially.
OCSK is currently undergoing a rebuilding process following a period of dormancy after the COVID-19 pandemic. An interim, unelected volunteer working group is in place to help revive the Society and lay the groundwork for the future election of a formal governing council.
